Robert “Bob” McCormick serves as the Executive Director of the Council of Institutional Investors (CII), stepping into the role in July 2024 after more than two decades shaping modern corporate governance. He leads CII’s mission to strengthen investor protections, elevate governance standards, and advocate for long‑term value creation across U.S. capital markets. Known for his steady, analytical approach, McCormick works closely with asset owners, policymakers, and public company leaders to advance transparent, accountable governance practices.
Before joining CII, McCormick was Managing Director at PJT Camberview, where he advised boards and executive teams on shareholder engagement and governance strategy. He previously served as Chief Policy Officer at Glass Lewis, overseeing global proxy research and policy development, and earlier led investment proxy research at Fidelity Investments, directing voting on thousands of securities representing more than $1 trillion in assets. His career reflects a consistent focus on investor rights, board accountability, and the evolving dynamics between companies and their shareholders.
