ABOUT LARRY
Larry Clinton is the President of the Internet Security Alliance (ISA), a multi-sector trade association dedicated to thought leadership, policy advocacy, and developing best practices in cyber security. He holds a certification in Cyber Risk Management for Corporate Boards from Carnegie Mellon University and teaches a graduate Executive Education course in cyber security at the Wharton School. Clinton has been recognized twice by the National Association of Corporate Directors as one of the 100 most influential people in corporate governance.
Clinton has served as Chair of the IT Sector Coordinating Council and sits on several cybersecurity advisory boards, including those for the Center for Audit Quality and the Better Business Bureau. He is a prolific author and media spokesperson, frequently testifying before Congress and briefing global industry and government bodies, including NATO and the OAS. Notably, ISA was the only trade association involved in the official cyber security briefing for the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
ISA’s recent publication, the Cyber Social Contract (Vol. 3), offers 106 recommendations for the President and Congress, building on previous editions that influenced significant cyber security policies, including President Obama’s Executive Order 13636. Clinton co-chairs the Policy Leadership Working Group on Cyber Security Collective Defense, featured at the National Cyber Security Summit. He authored the Cyber Risk Handbook for corporate boards, endorsed by both DHS and DOJ, which has significantly impacted corporate cyber risk management practices globally. ISA continues to expand its influence with adaptations of the Handbook for the UK, Germany, Latin America, India, and Japan.
