John founded Poseidon Sigma, a boutique security consultancy based in south Florida after a career spent as a CIA officer, planning and executing high-risk operations overseas and conducting covert action missions on behalf of US policymakers. He has extensive experience operating in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, as well as the war zones, and is a specialist in physical security and explosive hazards assessment. UK close-protection trained and certified, John, along with his partners, assesses and advises family office and corporate clients on their security posture, delivers enterprise-level crisis management skills training and builds comprehensive threat-based security programs tailored to his client's needs. Poseidon also works as a senior adviser to leading global security consultancies.

Prior to joining CIA, John was an officer in the United States Navy, and later a turn-around manager for PHILIPS Electronics and HAGEMEYER, NV, where he led multicultural and multi-discipline teams in product management, restructuring and rightsizing of underperforming units in Europe.

This unusual combination of military, business and intelligence experience gives John a unique perspective on threat assessment, risk management and international business operations so that solutions are bespoke-tailored rather than recycled from a consulting playbook.

John completed his undergraduate studies at Boston University and holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from HEC School of Management in Paris, France. He is a native French, English and Italian speaker and manages passable Dutch and Spanish.

In his free time, John can be found working on vintage automobiles and at the range. In addition to turning wrenches on old cars, he competes in 10-meter Olympic air pistol and loves the mental challenge and precision of reloading and long-range rifle shooting.
