Mr. Ulsch is the Founder and Chief Analyst of Gray Zone Research & Intelligence—China Series, focusing on China’s technology-driven strategy for global economic supremacy. He is an international advisor on cybersecurity, operational risk, and geopolitical risk, and advises the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on China’s cyber and technology transfer threats. A former Senior Managing Director at PwC, he has led cybercrime investigations in 70 countries and is a strategy advisor to an East African presidential cabinet-in-exile on countering China’s Belt & Road Initiative.

His research covers the impact of technology transfer on China’s economic strategy, US corporate regulatory risks, and China’s supply chain penetration. He has a significant following on LinkedIn, where his China Polls have garnered over 200,000 views since June 2021. Mr. Ulsch has also served as a cyber threat advisor to the CIA and the US Secrecy Commission, and has advised a US presidential campaign on cybersecurity issues.

Mr. Ulsch is a Guest Lecturer on Cyber Warfare at the US Military Academy at West Point and a Research Fellow in Cyber Security at Boston College. He has authored two books, “Cyber Threat: How to Manage the Growing Risk of Cyber Attacks” and “Threat! Managing Risk in a Hostile World,” and is working on a new book about China’s future strategies. He is represented by Skytop Media Group and serves as an Independent Director of a financial services company, focusing on cybersecurity and privacy issues.
